A surprisingly rockin’ record from Kranky, the label who in the past few years have been known for a steady output of electronica, ambient and minimalist statements, Atlanta’s Deerhunter is something different altogether, a pounding mix of dosed-electronic wash somewhere between <strong>My Bloody Valentine</strong> and <strong>Brian Eno</strong> and a neo-punk-garage-indie-wiggle nestled amongst <strong>The Faints’</strong> snottiness and the <strong>Velvet Underground</strong>’s simplicity and cyclical pulse.
