The Finches: Human Like a House

A sheer delight. Human Like a House is the debut from the San Francisco duo the Finches, and it’s folk pop at its very finest: melodic, warm and inviting. Singer-songwriter Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs has an angelic voice, nicely harmonized at times by Aaron Morgan, recalling Mirah, Karen Peris of the Innocense Mission, even the great Sibille Baier. This all-acoustic affair is nicely sweetened by cellos, recorders, and backing vocals from the band’s family. The album also comes with a deluxe chipboard digipack featuring nice woodcut drawings (by Riggs herself). Highly recommended!
