Veteran producer of deep-ambient electronic music William Basinski turns out another gorgeous, enveloping piece. Vivian & Ondine, named for two baby girls born into his family on the same day in 2008, follows a recurring theme for him, repurposing a set of older, scattered tape loops into a unified whole. Equal parts soothing and haunting, the 45-minute work is another meditative must for all fans of audio esoterica. (M.L. Thrope)
